AKRON - Catherine "Cathy" Skinner, 81, of Summit Ridge, Colo., and formerly of Akron, died July 9, 2007, in her residence.
She was born Oct. 9, 1925, in Cokedale, Colo., to William and Catherine Ross Sneddon. On Jan. 3, 1941, in Littleton, Colo., she married Kenneth A.E. Skinner, who died June 15, 1998.
In 1996, she moved to Akron from Chugiak, Alaska, where she lived for 25 years. After a brief time in Akron, she move to Colorado. She was involved in Operation Respect and United React, and was a hunter safety instructor.
Surviving are three sons: Kenneth "Bill," Ronald and Donald Skinner, all of Colorado; a daughter, Mrs. David (Irene) Nichols, Colorado; two sisters, Dorothy Hood and Henrietta Hall, both of Colorado; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.
Services were July 13 at Ertel Memorial Chapel, Cokedale, with the Rev. Bud Rousset officiating. Private burial was in Akron Cemetery.
Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, was in charge of arrangements.
