SILVER LAKE - An undisclosed amount of cash was taken during an alleged armed robbery this morning at a Silver Lake mini mart.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department was notified of the 1:30 a.m. incident at McClure Gas Station, Ind. 15S, shortly after the suspect fled the business.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 180 to 185 pounds. At the time of the alleged robbery, the suspect was wearing a dark green or camouflage jumpsuit and a multi-colored face mask. He is believed to be in his late teens or early 20s and has brown or blond hair, with a mustache or goatee.

According to a KCSD report, the suspect entered the store and displayed a semi-automatic pistol. He then allegedly held the clerk at gunpoint and demanded money. The suspect was given the money from the cash register.

The suspect fled the area in an older two-door white car with a gold or orange stripe down the side. The car, possibly a Mazda, was last seen southbound on Ind. 15.
