NORTH MANCHESTER – Carroll “Kaydo” M. Petry, 85, North Manchester, died at 6:46 a.m. Sept. 8, 2016, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born Aug. 20, 1931, in Pitsburg, Ohio, to Wilmer A. and Edna Lucille Brower Petry. On Aug. 20, 1950, he married Margaret M. James, who died Dec. 8, 2014. He was pastor at Spring Creek Church of the Brethren from 1951 to 1953; Batavia (Ill.) Church of the Brethren, 1955-1956; Wabash Church of the Brethren, 1956-1963; and Eel River Church of the Brethren, 1963-1969. He was a missionary in Nigeria from1963 to 1969 and a church executive at South Central District Ministry from 1971 to 1993. He was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren, North Manchester. Survivors include a son, Daniel Mark (and spouse Amy) Petry, Middlebury; two daughters, Dianne Louise (and spouse Rich) Wion, North Manchester, and Darlene Kay (and spouse Doug) Miller, Dillsburg, Pa.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald D. (and spouse Beverly) Petry, North Manchester, and Larry W. (and spouse Alice) Petry, Akron, Ohio; and a sister, Miriam E. Bernhard, Sebring, Fla. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Manchester Church of the Brethren, North Manchester, with pastors Kurt Borgmann and Karen Eberly officiating. Burial will be in Ulrey Memorial Cemetery, Silver Lake.
