Editor, Times-Union: Once again the Wagon Wheel gave us the opportunity to enjoy Broadway-class performances without going to Broadway or Chicago.
Last night we were totally enthralled by the performance of “Carousel”. Lead performances by Annie Yokum as Julie Jordan and Matthew Janisse as Billy Bigelow matched the level of what you would see on the Broadway stage. Performances by the others were equally outstanding and one could not help but get “caught up” in this classic by Rodgers and Hammerstein. The quality of all voices were matched by the quality of the choreography.
Our community’s summer guests are missing a very special experience if they don’t include a Wagon Wheel performance as part of their stay. “Chicago” is next and based on our special experiences at Wagon Wheel this summer – this musical is a “must” on our list and would make for a special night on yours.
