MENTONE - Carol S. Brazo, 64, of 208 N. Broadway St., Mentone, died at 6:48 p.m. Sept. 8, 2007, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born Jan. 23, 1943, in South Bend, to Marion and Fern Adams Carnes. On Oct. 22, 1964, in Munich, Germany, she married James A. Brazo, who survives.
She and her husband were formerly of the Niles, Mich., area. She was a registered nurse and most recently worked for Hope Hospice of Fulton County. She received her nurse's training in Cook County, Ill., and received a bachelor's degree from Purdue University. She was a member of Mentone United Methodist Church. She enjoyed caring for people through the Hospice work she had done, and also loved to paint, knit, sew and make baskets. She was a great nurse and homemaker.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Connie) Simons, Rochester; three sons: Greg (and wife Shannon) Brazo, Burket; Nathan (and wife Rachel) Brazo, Indianapolis; and Ben Brazo, Claypool; four granddaughters, ShaNell, Alexis and Morgan Brazo and Allison Ulrey; and a sister, Michelle Heibner, Saline, Mich.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with the Rev. Les Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
