NAPPANEE – Carol Jean Rabel, 79, of Lot 99 Meadows, Nappanee, died at 10:28 a.m. Oct. 2, 2011, in Doctor’s Hospital, Bremen, after a long illness.
She was born Aug. 30, 1932, in Warsaw, to Richard and Virgie Brown Allen. On June 1, 1956, in Silver Lake, she married Donald Eugene Rabel, who survives.
Moving to Nappanee from Warsaw in 1966, she attended Silver Lake High School, was a homemaker and was a member of Nappanee American Legion Auxiliary for more than 50 years.
Also surviving are two sons, Rodney Wayne Rabel, Nappanee, and Gregory Allen (and spouse Karla) Rabel, Columbus, Mont.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a stepdaughter, Heather. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
No services are planned. There will be cremation.
