AKRON – Carol Jane Minix, 79, Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, and formerly of Bourbon and Polk City, Fla., died at 3:40 a.m. Feb. 10, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born Oct. 13, 1936, in Marshall County, to William Harold and Elma Winterrowd Fanning. She was a Tippecanoe High School graduate. Surviving are three daughters: Lanette (and spouse Tom) Bauters, Akron; and Linda (and spouse Doug) Thompson and Lora (and spouse Thadd) Mellott, all of Bourbon; two sons, Craig Scholl (and companion Tania Rosello), Tampa, Fla., and Brian (and spouse Neriza) Scholl, Polk City, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, V. Gene Epler, Columbia City; one brother, E. Jay (and spouse Beaverly) Fanning, Taylors, S.C.; and three nieces: Marilyn Stender, Kelly Robertson and Kimberly Lindsey. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Harold and Elma Fanning; and one brother-in-law, Delbert Epler. A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
