CULVER - Led by a superb performace from senior Carly Feldman, Triton's varsity girls basketball team continued its reign in Class 1A sectional action.
The Trojans, who have never lost a 1A sectional game since the inception of class basketball, downed county rival Argos 60-46 Saturday in the title tilt at Culver.
Carly Feldman provided the punch the Trojans needed to knock out the Dragons, putting together a double-double performance of 30 points and 18 rebounds. Kelley Feldman added eight points and eight rebounds for the winners, while Lindsay Stutzman had seven points, Terrin Meister seven points and five assists, and Kristen Dean six points and three steals.
The Trojans, who led by 12 after the first quarter en route to the 14-point win, improved to 13-9 on the season and play South Newton (14-8) in the second semifinal game of the Culver Regional Saturday. Whiting (14-9) and Fort Wayne Canterbury square off in the 10 a.m. semifinal game.
Amberly O'Dell led Argos Saturday with 17 points, while Lacy DeWitt added eight and Desiree Gilbert scored seven.
The Dragons, who also lost to the Trojans in regular season action, finished their season at 17-6.
