Carlotta May Tackett, 71, of Claypool, passed away at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 31, 1947, in Warren, to Marion Francis and Vivian McDonald Flemming Sr. She grew up in Warren and graduated from Rock Creek High School in Huntington.

She was married on July 19, 1969, in Van Buren, to Joe Tackett, who survives. They moved to Claypool in 1988 from Marion.

She was employed as a CNA at the Methodist Home in Warren for 17 years, Mason Home Healthcare in Warsaw for five-plus years, and was a bus driver for Tippecanoe Valley Schools for 23 years.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Tackett of Claypool; two daughters, Dixie (Timothy) Holloway of Silver Lake and Melissia Tackett of Warsaw; two sons, David (Tracy) Tackett of Pickensville, Ala., and Jobey (Deanna) Tackett of Haubstadt; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six sisters: Wanda (Dan) Hinen and Cornelia Johnson, both of Fort Wayne; and Mary (Steve) Randall, Patty Whitney, Phyllis Herring and Vianna (Bob) Johnson all of Huntington; and two brothers, John (Treva) Flemming of Warren and Richard (Ronda) Flemming of Van Buren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Linda Flemming; and two brothers, Marion Francis Flemming Jr. and Terry Flemming.

No public services will be held.

Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
