Carla Kristin Collins, of Milford, passed away surrounded by her loving family into the presence of the Lord on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the age of 45. A courageous, strong, beautiful soul, she exuded pure joy, love and grace. Known for always being selfless and putting the needs of others first, simply because of a wonderfully kind heart. Carla spent her time on this earth living her life to the fullest and loving people unconditionally. She fought a hard battle with cancer, but is now rejoicing in her Heavenly home!
Born on Dec. 2, 1980, at Scott Air Force Base in St. Clair County, Ill., to Machelle Lynn Rhoades and Fred Joseph Landolt Jr. A resident of Kosciusko County for the past 31 years, Carla was a 1999 graduate of Lakeland Christian Academy and attended Grace College. She was known for her unwavering work ethic, approaching every role with a genuine passion and a commitment to giving her absolute best. She took great pride in her career, notably dedicating over a decade to Syracuse Glass and 20 years to her true passion as the owner of Behind the Lens Photography since 2008. For the many new people she met as well as for friends and family, Carla’s love for photography allowed her to preserve precious moments for others to cherish.
She was a lifelong friend to many and will be lovingly remembered by her greatest treasure, her son, Cameron Collins, of Syracuse; and his father, Chris Collins; her soul mate and companion, Phil Hackworth, of Milford, who shared her sense of adventure traveling the country riding coasters … and his daughters, Kyra Hackworth and Tiana Jones. She leaves behind her parents, Machelle and Fred Landolt Jr., of Warsaw; grandparents, Larry and Nancy Rhoades, of Silver Lake; as well as her brother, Joe Landolt, of Warsaw; two sisters, Sarah (Joe) Allen, of Zionsville; Erica (Craig) Wilson, of Plymouth; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Fred and Helen Landolt.
Friends and family may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Carla’s life will be celebrated with a service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 2 at Silver Creek Church of God, 6504 W. CR 1300S, Silver Lake, and officiated by Pastor Dr. Larry McCall. A graveside service will follow at Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Lake.
