SYRACUSE – Carl Stidams, 69, was called to his final resting place Oct. 28, 2013, in West Monroe, La.
He was born June 9, 1944, to Delbert and Tilda Stidams.
He was an avid sportsman and active in the Wounded Warriors project, and was a member of the American Legion. He also gave 12 years in the USAF and also served in Vietnam. He loved to play poker with his buddies, and he loved his dogs, Chloe and Harley. He was a semi driver for many years, then became a master diesel mechanic from which he retired.
Surviving are one son, Earl; first wife, Lynne Watkins Stidams; three brothers: Jim, Mark and Delbert Jr.; two sisters, Kelly and Marie; his wife, Pam; two sons, Brain and Mitchell; three grandsons: Austin, Ben and Mason; one granddaughter, Sharee; five sisters: Liza (and spouse Larry) Jones, Louise Wakley, Vannie Swinehart, Billie Jo May and Pat (and spouse Kevin) Koher; seven brothers: Joe (and spouse Mary), Don (and spouse Sandy), George (and spouse Joann), Brad (and spouse Anastasia), Buren, Wayne (and spouse Tracy) and Dale (and spouse Sherry). He was preceded in death by both parents.
A full military burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Veteran Memorial in Marion.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse.
