Carl Bruce Venable, 69, of Fort Wayne, died April 6, 2010, in his residence.

He was born Nov. 10, 1940, in Middlesboro, Ky., to Ben and Flossie Venable. He married Donna Fitting, who died Nov. 18, 2000.

Moving to Fort Wayne from Pierceton in 2000, he served in the U.S. Navy, where he was part of the Naval Blockade during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He owned B&D Wrought Iron for 35 years, and was a member of Pierceton American Legion Post 258.

Surviving are three sons: Carl Jr. (and spouse Wendy) Venable, Warsaw; Michael (and spouse Nicki) Venable, Fort Wayne; and Dave (and spouse Lisa) Watts, Leesburg; two daughters, Lisa (and spouse Steve) Rizor, Luling, Texas, and Janet Watts, Warsaw; a brother, Jim Venable, Jackson, Ohio; two sisters, Nel Rodriguez, Tennessee, and Delma Venable, California; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ben Venable.

Services were Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Denny Bollenbacher, New Beginnings Community Church, Atwood. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Atwood.
