NORTH WEBSTER - A car found burning early Saturday in a field near North Webster was stolen sometime earlier.
Notisha L. Lisenby, EMS B48 Lane, told police that she last saw her 1996 Dodge Stratus parked in her driveway about 9 p.m. Friday and noticed it missing about 2 a.m. when she got up to check on a child.
The car was found on fire about 4:30 a.m. 150 feet into a field off CR 850E, one-half mile north of CR 900N. The car was burned to its metal shell.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department report, the stereo of the vehicle appeared to have been removed before the car was apparently set on fire. Other items also may be missing from inside the car.
