Two men were injured, one severely, when their car was involved in an accident with a pickup on US 30 then crashed into the Tractor Supply Company building in Warsaw Saturday.

According to a report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, a car driven by David G. Blackburn, 48, of Kokomo, was crossing US 30 on CR 325E when he stopped in the travel lane of US 30 and was hit by a pickup driven by Steven M. Robinette, 49, of Monclavia, Ohio.

Robinette was eastbound on US 30 in a Chevrolet Silverado when he was unable to avoid hitting Blackburn's Dodge Stratus.

After the initial collision, Blackburn's car accelerated across westbound US 30 and rammed into the outside wall of the TSC store.

Blackburn was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, but his passenger Kim W. Kennedy, 46, suffered severe injuries in the crash. After Kennedy was extricated from the vehicle, he was airlifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he was listed in very critical condition.

Blackburn was injured and later taken to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.

Robinette and two passengers in his pickup were not injured in the crash.

The Kosciusko County accident investigation team was assisted at the scene by the Warsaw Police Department, Winona Lake Police Department, Multi-Township EMS, Warsaw/Wayne Township Fire Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
