Suzanne, you seem to be contradicting your self in your rhetorical response to Janet Collinís topic on capitalism.
For example, you first agree that people should be given assistance to get back on their feet again. Then you turn around and say that handouts destroy peoples desire to work for a living. Do you profess to know what and how people desire?
However, what does it mean to be back on your feet again? Some have big feet, some have small feet, and some have no feet at all. What does it take for a certain individual to get back on her/his feet again?
Millions and maybe trillions of dollars has been given to banks and other corporate entities to get them back on their feet again, with no questions asked. However, when it comes to helping the citizens of this country a war breaks out. So why is socialism okay when it comes to corporations, but when it comes to the citizens of this county it is not? I ask, what is up with this insanity? It seems the only thing capitalism fosters is psychopathic behavior.
So, what does it take for an individual to be prosperous enough to become a citizen? What does it take for a person to get back on her/his feet again and become a functioning member of a capitalist society?
Money, it takes money and lots of it. So, what I propose is that the top 1 percent who owns all the wealth, and who are our government, should give every citizen one hundred thousand dollars to get us back on our feet again. After all, it is the season of giving.
