Candidate Events Scheduled

Kosciusko Silent No More has scheduled a number of candidate events in Warsaw.

The group is a grassroots organization that is designed for the purpose of standing for freedom and the Constitution.

It meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 210 S. High St., Warsaw, at 7 p.m.

The primary is May 2 and the general election is Nov. 2.

Local surgeon and Republican U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Tom Haney will speak Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The seat is currently held by Evan Bayh.

Republican 3rd District U.S. Congressional candidate Phil Troyer will speak Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The seat is currently held by Mark Souder.

The group will host a petition-signing party for the Republican senate candidates Feb. 8 at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church from 7 to 9 p.m.

Each candidate will either be present for the petition-signing party or have staffers on hand.

By signing the petitions, the public will not endorse the candidate, but get the candidate's name on the ballot.

A primary senatorial debate will be March 6 from 10 a.m. to noon at Center Lake Pavilion, Warsaw.

Republican senate candidates Don Bates Jr., John Hostettler, Richard Behney, Marlin Stutzman and Haney will speak during the debate.

Souder will speak March 8 at Center Lake Pavilion.

The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with light refreshments. The meeting will follow at 7 p.m. and conclude with a question-and-answer time.Stutzman will speak April 6 at 7 p.m. at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Republican State Representative District 22 candidate Rebecca Kubacki will speak April 20 at 7 p.m. at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The seat is currently held by Bill Ruppel.
