Posted

Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana welcomes the following community leaders to the Board of Directors: Kristin Packnett (Co. Work), Dr. Alan Yahanda (Parkview Packnett Family Cancer Institute) and Dr. Mike Yuan (Radiation Oncology Associates).
Each leader brings with them a heart for people with cancer and a deep personal connection to Cancer Services’ mission to provide compassionate support to families touched by cancer, according to a provided news release from Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
Packnett is a co-founder of Co. Work, a support company specializing in marketing, development and team coaching for small businesses and nonprofits. She experienced Cancer Services’ resources firsthand when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012.
After her acceptance to the board, Packnett said, “Cancer Services offered my family a safe place to champion my mom as she tried on wigs, anticipating the loss of her hair. I look forward to offering my strengths and talents to the Cancer Services board of directors as the organization's legacy, impact and reach continue to strengthen and grow.”
Yahanda is the president of the Parkview Packnett Family Cancer Institute, a valued partner who plays an important role in connecting people with Cancer Services early in their diagnosis, the release states.
“For years, patients of mine have benefited from Cancer Services. Now, as a board member, I have an opportunity to give back to that organization in gratitude for all that they have done for my patients and continue to do for the people of our community,” Yahanda said.
Yuan is a radiation oncologist with Radiation Oncology Associates. His work places him at the forefront of the cancer journey for many community members, where he starkly sees the need for support and compassion.
On his acceptance, Yuan said, "I joined this board because this organization provides truly exceptional support to cancer patients navigating an incredibly challenging journey. In my own practice, I have witnessed firsthand the profound, positive impact Cancer Services has on my patients. I am deeply looking forward to partnering with the executive team and my fellow board members to continue serving and uplifting our community."
Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana is grateful for the willingness of these community leaders to serve and ensure resources remain available for people facing cancer in this community.
