Cancer Benefit

Posted
Pictured are (L to R) Kelly Brubaker and Cindy Peters of the American Legion Post 49 Auxiliary Unit with cancer patient Kathy Snell.

The  auxiliary and the rest of the legion family recently hosted a cancer benefit for Snell. The event included a spaghetti dinner, silent auction and bake sale.

Snell had surgery two days before the event but was still able to attend. Total amount raised for the day was $2,100 with 10 percent of the proceeds going to the K21 health foundation.

The money will help to cover the cost of continued medical treatment for Snell’s battle with stage 4 breast cancer, travel costs and living expenses during her treatments at Indiana University Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis.

The legion auxiliary wishes to thank all those who donated items for the silent auction. The mission of the legion auxiliary is, “Serve those who served before us.”
