CGPS Students Named To

Trine University President's List


ANGOLA – Students from the College of Graduate and Professional Students at Trine University were named to the President's List for the Spring 2018 semester.

To earn President's List honors, CGPS students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade point average of 3.750 to 4.

Area students who were named to the President's List include:

• Paige Hlutke, North Webster, majoring in mechanical engineering management.

• Jessica Wienhorst, Warsaw, majoring in psychology-BS.

Named To Dean's List


ANGOLA – Students from Trine University's main campus were named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2018 semester.

To earn Dean's List honors, main campus students must complete a minimum of 15 hours and have a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.749.

Area students on the Dean's List included:

• Gavin Bontrager, Milford, a design engineering technology major.

• Zachary Hewitt, Pierceton, a general studies major.

• Tristan Justice, Silver Lake, a design engineering technology major.

• Alexander Kromkowski, Rochester, a psychology-BS major.

• Robert Morehouse, Mentone, a civil engineering major.

• Alexandre Plastow, Warsaw, a biomedical engineering major.



DePauw Graduates The Class Of 2018

GREENCASTLE – On May 20, 473 students became the 179th graduating class of DePauw University. The undergraduates were awarded their degrees during the program which took place in Holton Memorial Quadrangle.

The day's events included a speech by civil rights legend, attorney and presidential adviser Vernon E. Jordan Jr., DePauw Class of 1957.

The following local students graduated:

• Victoria Jennings, Rochester.

• William Kirkwood, Nappanee.

• Aaron Orr, North Manchester.



Rhodes Chooses Butler

Lucas E. Rhodes has received an Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps scholarship to attend Butler University, Indianapolis.

Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, physical fitness, specific performance or accomplishments, and leadership abilities, as well as personal interviews.

The scholarship entitlements include tuition and fees, an annual allowance of $600 for textbooks and a monthly stipend for up to 10 months of each school year that the cadet completes at the host college or university.

Upon graduation from the host college and completion of the ROTC program, the cadet receives a bachelor's degree and a commission as a second lieutenant in the Air Force. He or she also incurs a military service obligation of four years (10 years for pilots) of active-duty enlistment.

Rhodes is the son of Kami J. Johnson, Winona Lake, and grandson of Linda K. and Timothy F. Johnson, Pierceton.

He is a 2018 graduate of Warsaw Community High School.
