MENTONE – Cam Rathbun, 69, of Warsaw, and formerly of rural Akron, passed at 7:29 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne.
Cam was born on Dec. 25, 1951, in Warsaw, to the late David William and Leona Marie Wideman Rathbun. He married on July 28, 1979, to Patricia M. Braman in the First Presbyterian Church of Rochester. She survives.
He attended the Talma United Methodist Church in his youth. He was a graduate of Mentone High School in 1970. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors, and he loved his family. In earlier years, he was active in the Akron Youth League, where he coached girls softball, travel teams and served on the board. Cam had worked for Dalton Corporation in quality assurance for 40 years, retiring in 2017.
Cam is survived by his wife, Pat Rathbun, of Warsaw; daughters: Gail and husband Patrick Crone, of Walkerton; and Heather and husband Bryan Buckley, of Osceola; grandchildren: Natalie Crone, Liam Buckley and Emma Buckley; and sisters: Carol and husband Don Boyer, of Mentone; and Sandy and husband Ellis Shepherd, of Akron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie Rathbun.
A private service will be held with the interment taking place in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone. Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 5 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Masks will be required for all who are in attendance.
