RUSHVILLE – Calvin E. Wagner, 76, of Warsaw, and formerly of Rush County, died at 8:07 p.m. Dec. 3, 2011.

He was born June 11, 1935, in Switzerland County, to Tommie and Gertrude Hutchinson Wagner.

He was a 1953 graduate of Arlington High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He worked for many years at the Rushville furniture factory and the Original Tractor Cab Co. before going to work in 1961 for Perfect Circle, Rushville. When it closed its Rushville operations in 1984, he transferred to Warsaw and worked at Dana Corp. until 1993. He was a machinist for many years. He was a member of Arlington Christian Church.

Surviving are a son, Darrell (and spouse Tammy) Wagner, Rushville; a daughter, Laura (and spouse Rick) Arnett, Warsaw; a former wife, Carolyn Strait Wagner, Warsaw; a brother, Del Monte (and spouse Donna) Wagner, Arlington; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, with Bob Brock officiating. Burial will be in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. There will be military honors by members of Rush County Veterans Honor Guard.
