Editor, Times-Union: Many of you seem to still be on the fence about the hazards of CAFOs in the area. I would like for anyone who doubts the impact on the water, air and soil to simply educate yourself by watching a documentary on YouTube called “A River of Waste.” It came out in 2009 and is now available for all to see on your computer. You will be giving up about 92 minutes of your time to see what really is happening to our good earth and to the food you consume.
Our group is still working on ordinances for this county. If these are not adopted, you may find yourself living next to a CAFO, or your child may go to school next to one. Too many people are complacent about this very important issue. Don’t wait until it is too late to get the information needed to stop this factory farming.
