CONNERSVILLE – Byron Jay Pyle, 82, of Connersville, died May 19, 2012, in Fayette Regional Health System.
He was born July 8, 1929, in Warsaw, to Virgil K. and Hazel Lidia Baker Pyle.
He graduated from Sidney High School in 1947 and attended North Manchester College. He was owner and operator of Reece Paint Store after being transferred to Connersville with Public Service of Indiana. He also was manager of Gambell Furniture and Appliance Store, Wabash. He was a member of the Republican Party, Junior Achievement and was past executive director of the Chamber of Commerce. He also was a member of Connersville Baptist Temple and a former member of the Kiwanis Club.
Also surviving are his children: Jana Rae Tatum, Indianapolis; Becky Susan Hartgrove, Connersville; Tonia Lee Pyle, Ridgecrest, Calif.; and Barton Jay (and spouse Angela) Pyle, Richmond, Va.; a sister, Ina Harrington, North Manchester; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville, with the Rev. Tim Billups officiating. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with Pastor Gale Janofski officiating and with calling from noon to 1 p.m.
Calling also is from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Urban Winkler Funeral Home.
