A school bus with children aboard was involved in an accident Wednesday.
At 4:08 p.m. Wednesday, bus driver Karen S. Loubert, 62, of West Pike Street, Warsaw, was driving west of West Lake Street and was planning on turning north onto Meadow Lake Boulevard, where she had to turn wider because of the size of the bus. While turning, Loubert stated in the police report, Anita L. Miller, 73, of Rivercrest Drive, Warsaw pulled to the white line of the intersection, approximately halfway in the left turn lane and half way in the right turn lane on Meadow Lake Boulevard. Loubert said the mirror and front left of the school bus struck the left front of Miller’s car, as well as scraping the length of her vehicle.
Loubert said she believed Miller was at fault due to pulling too closely to West Lake Street, while Miller thought Loubert was at fault due to turning too widely.
All involved, including the children on the school bus, stated they were all right and declined medical treatment. The estimated damage, according to the police report, was $2,500-$5,000. Warsaw Police Department investigated the incident.
