Charges are pending against a Warsaw Community Schools bus driver after she allegedly battered a student riding on her bus.
The 17-year-old male reported the incident Friday afternoon.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department report, the incident was captured on a video camera on the bus.
The alleged battery took place when the driver stopped the bus near the intersection of CRs 200W and 300N and told the student to turn around. When he didn't turn around, the driver allegedly pushed the student. The two then exchanged words and the driver reportedly poked the teen-ager in the face, then grabbed him by the face, before returning to her seat and continuing the bus route.
The video reportedly shows the two continuing to exchange words for the duration of the bus trip.
The student's mother contacted WCS transportation director, Della Swain, who retrieved the videotape from the bus. Swain told police the driver will not continue her bus route until the situation is resolved.
