Burket Man Pinned Under Mustang Released From HospitalBURKET – A Burket man who got pinned underneath his Mustang in his garage Saturday morning and flown to Parkview has been released.

According to a news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, at 10:22 a.m. Saturday, a 911 call came in stating Christopher Witham, of 207 E. Broadway St., Burket, was pinned underneath the passenger side of the Mustang he had been working under. Several minutes later, dispatch was notified the man was no longer beneath the vehicle.

Burket Fire Department, KCSO and Mentone, Lutheran and Parkview EMS were dispatched to the scene, and a response from Parkview Samaritan Air Ambulance was requested by emergency personnel.

It was determined the cribbing supporting the weight of the vehicle moved and trapped Witham’s hips and upper torso under the vehicle. Witham was able to alert his wife, who was in the home, and family members then used a floor jack to raise the Mustang and free Witham, according to the release.

Witham was transported by Samaritan to Parkview Regional Medical Center for leg, hip and chest pain, and he was conscious and alert prior to leaving the scene, the release states.

On Sunday, Parkview said Witham was released on Saturday.
