BURKET – Burket Town Council held a hearing Monday for its 2026 budget.
The proposed budget totals $114,500. The rainy day fund is $2,000. The general fund is $37,800. The local road and street fund is $8,500. The motor vehicle highway fund is $49,500. The cumulative capital improvements fund is $500. The cumulative capital development fund is $600. The economic development income tax fund is $14,400. The local option income tax special distribution fund is $1,200. The motor vehicle highway restricted, opioid distribution unrestricted and Community Crossings Matching Grant local roads and bridges matching funds are zero dollars.
The budget will be adopted at 6 p.m. Oct. 13.
