Editor, Times-Union: On May 5, 2015 registered voters in the Warsaw Community School District have an opportunity to “Pay It Forward” when we vote for the school capital funding referendum. The elected school board has carefully analyzed the critical improvements needed to benefit the children and our entire community. Many families looking to move to our community research the school systems to learn how a community values the importance of education. They will find we have excellent teachers, a dedicated school board, great school system leadership headed by Dr. David Hoffert and a supporting community. In close observation, they will also discover we have some facility needs that will impede the learning and equality of education of students at Lincoln, Washington and Edgewood Middle School. We believe the school board has presented a well-documented and transparent plan to correct these impediments. Their wish list could have included many wants, but did not. We believe they are only proposing absolutely necessary improvements to maintain safe and proper educational facilities. When you enter the voting booth, we ask you to join us in voting yes in support of the kids in the Warsaw Community School system. John and Elaine Elliott Winona Lake, via email
