Builders Association Plans Remodeling Show

The Builder's Association of Kosciusko-Fulton Counties is sponsoring a new show this year called the "Spring Remodeler and New Home Show."

"This is brand new," Carol Huffer, executive officer for the Builder's Association, said. "We have never done this before. The builders are really excited about it."

The new show features 15 homes throughout Kosciusko and Fulton counties. Huffer said 10 of the homes are completely new and five have been remodeled.

Styles of homes featured in the show range anywhere from "grandma's little lake house with a new do," to "a half-million dollar remodel project," Huffer said.

The show began May 5 and 6 and will continue Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

"Remodeling is a huge interest to the public," Huffer said. "People can go (see) a remodeled project and/or a new home and see what can be done," Huffer said.

Maps and directions to and descriptions of the 15 homes can be found in the Times-Union and other area newspapers in a bright yellow insert. Directions also can be obtained by calling Huffer at 267-6125, or watching the newspaper for future advertisements.

Huffer also said there is no cost for the show.

"We want the general public to have an opportunity to see these projects and not have to pay for everything they do," she said.

The Builder's Association also will hold its 16th annual fall parade of homes Sept. 8 through 16. Nine homes will be featured in this parade and the cost is $5 per person. The 2001 Homes on Parade site is Heritage Lake Park, CR 250E, south of Ind. 30E and north of Pierceton Road.

The VIP night will be Sept. 6. Tickets will be $20 per person and ticket sales will begin in August.
