Bug Spraying To Begin

Posted

Warsaw residents who want to be notified in advance when the city begins its mosquito spraying program should call the street department as soon as possible.

Public Works superintendent Kim Leake said today that spraying for mosquitoes is scheduled to begin next week, with one-third of the city being sprayed each night. Anyone who wants to be notified in advance should call Leake's office at 372-9561, and the department will call them before their area is sprayed.

The insecticide is approved by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and causes no health hazards, Leake said.

The spraying should continue twice a week for several weeks, weather permitting.
