FORT WAYNE – Buddy D. Grindle, 88, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at his home.
Born in Huntington to Russel and Rachel Grindle, Buddy spent his formative years in Warsaw, eventually moving to Fort Wayne and working at W.S. Shamban for 38 years. Buddy enjoyed fishing, target shooting and growing tomatoes.
Buddy is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; children: Michelle Davis, Tim (Michele) Grindle, Cheryl (Ken) Richardson, Mary (Harry) Johnston, Elaine (Eric Riffle) Schmidt, David (Trisha Thompson) Schmidt and son-in-law, Jerry Butler; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Butler; and brothers, Alan and Keith Grindle.
A memorial service for Buddy will take place on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 1 p.m., with calling one hour prior at Parkwood Church of God, 3320 Trier Road, Fort Wayne. Arrangements entrusted to FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
