SYRACUSE – Bruce A. Furney, 39, of Syracuse, died Dec. 11, 2012, in his residence. He was born Sept. 3, 1973, in Elkhart County, to Bruce and Mary Holtzman Furney. On Dec. 28, 1992, he married Minnie Smith, who survives. A lifelong area resident, he was a mechanic, handy man and a race car driver. Also surviving are two daughters, Jennifer and Sarah Furney, both of Syracuse; a son, Timothy Furney, Syracuse; a granddaughter; his father, Bruce Furney Sr., Warsaw; a brother, Joey Furney, Claypool; and a sister, Jennifer Furney-Ousley, Warsaw. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Norman Reimer officiating. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery, Nappanee.
