INDIANAPOLIS - Of the local swimmers competing at the state finals at IUPUI's Natatorium, only one is advancing.

Wawasee's Adam Brown placed 14th in the 100 breaststroke with his time of 1:00.96. He will compete in the consolation round today beginning at 1 p.m.

Manchester's Rod Smith competed in two events but failed to make it out of the preliminary round. He finished with a time of 54.43 seconds in the 100 backstroke and bowed out of contention in the 200 individual medley after finishing with a time of 2:02.02.

Warsaw's Justin Lowrance finished his season after his time of 22.64 seconds in the 50 freestyle wasn't fast enough for the consolation finals.

Lowrance also swam with Adam Helfrich, Brandon Moore and John Sincroft in the 200 medley relay but their time of 1:43.78 wasn't fast enough to advance to the consolation round.

Four local divers, Manchester's Reed Christiansen, Wawasee's Dusty Lytle and Warsaw's Kevin Cowan and Sam Hood will compete in the diving preliminaries today at 9 a.m.
