LCA’s Hartwiger Selected For Membership In NSHSS ATLANTA, Ga. – The National Society of High School Scholars recently announced Lakeland Christian Academy student Abbey Hartwiger, Warsaw, has been selected to become a member of the organization. The society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment. Gross Awarded Highest Scholarship At Biola U. LA MIRADA, Calif. – Alisa Gross, a freshman of Biola University and resident of Pierceton, was among 53 students who received the college's highest scholarship – the Trustee’s scholarship – for the 2013-14 academic year. Freshmen are eligible for the Trustee's scholarship – $12,000 per year – if upon entering the university, they meet the requirements of the scholarship. Approximately 4 percent of this year's incoming class received this award. Students are considered for this scholarship upon admission to the university based on their grade point average and SAT scores. The requirements of the scholarship are a GPA of at least 3.5 and a combined SAT score of 1430, both math and English scores.
Klondaris Named Scholar Athlete At Earlham College RICHMOND, Ind. – Hanna Klondaris, an Earlham College senior and daughter of Lena Fermback and Michael Klondaris, Warsaw, was named an Earlham student-athlete Oct. 4. She was one of 39 spring semester participants to receive the honor. To be named an Earlham College Scholar-Athlete, an individual must earn a minimum 3.2 grade point average during their season of competition.
