ROCHESTER - Brent Ray McCloughan, 42, of 1283 N. CR 700E, Rochester, died at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30, 2007, in his residence.
He was born July 1, 1965, in Warsaw, to Ted and Lynda Hunter McCloughan, who survive in Cromwell and Bradenton, Fla.
He lived his entire life in Fulton County and was a 1983 Tippecanoe Valley High School graduate. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving primarily in Okinawa from October 1983 to February 1985. He returned to the Fulton County area and worked as a fabricator of restaurant equipment. Most recently he worked with his brother Darren for Dent Magic Plus.
An avid sportsman, he enjoyed fishing, especially for perch on Lake Erie. He also looked forward to deer-hunting season each autumn. Skeet shooting was also a favorite past time. On the domestic scene, when the sweet corn and other garden vegetables were ready for harvest, he would freeze and can his homegrown delicacies.
He was passionate about riding his Harley-Davidson while catching the breeze in both Indiana and Florida. Paramount is his life were his nieces and nephews. He looked forward to their visits and playing with them.
Also surviving are two sisters, Kim McCloughan, Sarasota, and Anita (and spouse Chris) Schultz, Huntington; two brothers, Rod (and spouse Dyan) McCloughan, Sarasota, and Darren (and spouse Jenny) McCloughan, Warsaw; a maternal grandmother, Dixie Hunter, Rochester; two nieces, Kelsey and Kaitlyn; seven nephews, Drew, Tyler, Cameron, Chance, Trevor, Trey and Benjamin; and many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Ben and Zelma McCloughan and Nelson Hunter, and a nephew, Colt McCloughan.
A celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester, with Pastor Mark Kline officiating. He was one of Brent's life long friends. Military rites will be by members of LeRoy Shelton American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Rochester.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
