Brent Eugene HoffmanBrent Eugene Hoffman, of Silver Lake, passed away on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at his residence at the age of 54.
He was born on April 15, 1964, in Rochester, to Miles Eugene and Patricia Ann Kuhn Hoffman. On June 7, 2003, he was married to Jessica Ann Littlejohn, who survives.
Brent was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where he was a 1982 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School. During his high school years he was an outstanding football player and was the top male graduate of his class. He attended Ball State University and received his bachelor’s degree in 1987.
He began his career in banking with Lake City Bank in Warsaw, working in the commercial loans department. Brent served on the Kosciusko County Fair Board for 10 years as the treasurer, and was very involved in many other community organizations.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and was a great outdoorsman. Most of all, he loved his family and will be dearly remembered as a very loving husband and father.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 15 years, Jessica Ann Hoffman, Silver Lake; two sons, Jacob and Brandon Hoffman, at home in Silver Lake; parents, Miles Eugene and Patricia Ann Hoffman, Silver Lake; and his brother, Troy (Susan) Hoffman, Silver Lake. He also leaves behind two nieces, Chelsea Brubaker and Jade Hoffman; one nephew, Noah Hoffman; and a grandmother, Jean Hatch, North Manchester.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Howard and Mary Hoffman and Neil Kuhn.
Friends and family can gather for a memorial visitation to be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
His memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Butch Troke of Beaver Dam United Methodist Church.
