Timothy S. Whitright, now former Warsaw Police officer, is being investigated for alleged inappropriate behavior toward a 16-year-old Warsaw Community High School student.
WPD Chief Scott Whitaker said that Whitright met the student while working an off-duty patrol at the high school.
He met a 16-year-old, got her number through another girl and began texting her.
Whitaker said Whitright texted the girl and asked what car she was driving so he could pull her over and frisk her.
Around Nov. 16, Whitright met the girl and kissed her and put his hands near her waistline. Two days later, Whitaker was informed of the incident.
The board accepted Whitright's resignation as of Tuesday morning.
