Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
A break-in around 1 a.m. today on CR 250E is believed to be related to a string of burglaries in the Warsaw area.
Lois Tucker, of 40 South CR 250E, near Five Oaks Addition, told the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department she heard a noise in her house around 1 a.m. but did not think it was significant. Later this morning she realized her purse and some cash, both of which had been on the kitchen counter, were missing.
Sheriff's deputies later found her purse approximately 100 yards away from her house.
Tucker reported $225 in cash stolen.
Entry was reportedly made through the garage, and authorities said the intruder apparently threw an oily substance found in the garage against a wall in the house.
There have been 62 similar since May. The incident remains under investigation.
