COLUMBIA CITY - Brandon Wade Minier, 35, of Columbia City, died at 4 a.m. April 26, 2009, in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.

He was born May 23, 1973, in Columbia City, to Michael Ned and Deborah Kay Ditmer Minier, who survive in Columbia City. On July 24, 1994, at the residence of Terry and Jane Ward, he married April Dawn Ward, who survives.

He was a lifetime Columbia City resident and a 1991 Columbia City High School graduate. He served as a missile silo technician in the U.S. Air Force from 1991-95. He earned an associate's degree as a journeyman electrician. He worked for Pizza King as a student; Air Force Military; C&R Plating; a journeyman electrician for Union 305; and a second year apprentice instructor. He was a member of Crossover Ministries, Fort Wayne, where he served on the sound team.

Also surviving are a son, Devin Wade Minier, at home; a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Minier, at home; two brothers, Matt (and spouse Liane) Minier and Drew Minier, all of Columbia City; grandmother, Peggy Ditmer, Warsaw; father- and mother-in-law, Terry and Jane Ward, Columbia City; three sisters-in-law, Marita (and spouse Brian) Link, St. Paul, Minn.; Lisa (and spouse Jong) Valerio, San Francisco, Calif.; and Darice (and spouse Eric) Sheiss, Delphi; and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Ned and Jean Minier, and maternal grandfather, Fritz Ditmer.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with Dave Mosher officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City, with graveside military honors.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
