Floyd Bradford, of Silver Lake, was found not guilty by a jury trial Tuesday of battery, a Class D felony.

Bradford, 58, was accused of hitting his son in the face, causing bleeding and bruising. The incident happened in 1994, when his son was 12 years old.

The case began in 1995 with Bradford's arrest, but was continued in March while Bradford was incarcerated in Florida.

A six-person jury delivered the verdict, which was read by Senior Judge Richard W. Sand, who presided over the one-day trial.
