Wednesday through Sunday, students from across the country will be in Anaheim, Calif., to participate in the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference.
Three Warsaw Area Career Center students have earned their place to compete against the strongest business students in the country. Competing will be Jeremy Meadows, in banking and finance; Matt Reinholt, in advanced accounting; and Sam Richardson, in fundamental accounting.
In addition to their competitions, students will have the opportunity to hear a keynote message from Josh Shipp: "I've found that sometimes the very thing that has hurt you the most is the very thing you can use to help others. You can't change the past-so why not focus on building an incredible future?"
The special event this year is a day enjoying Knott's Berry Amusement Park, America's first theme park (a few hours of which, the park will only be open to BPA members).
Warsaw's students have been offered a personal tour through Paramount Motion Picture Studios, where "Iron Man 2" recently finished taping.Leadership Sessions on topics ranging from a Business Etiquette Luncheon to Professional Image by Mary Kay to Finding a Job Using Social Media to Social Styles-Adapting to Any Situation.
In January, the BPA District Competitive Events were held at WCHS/ACC. Warsaw had more than 30 students place for state-level competition in Indianapolis. In March, those students competed, giving Warsaw three students qualified for national competition, as well as several alternates and general event placings.
Major support each year for the Warsaw BPA students comes from the sales of the "Flower Cards" sold in conjunction with the Ace Hardware Floral Shoppe. These cards allow purchasers to receive a bouquet of flowers each month of the year by just presenting their flower card at the Ace Hardware Floral Shoppe.
