In order for a Boy Scout to earn the Paul Bunyan Woodsman Award, they have to have already earned the Totin’ Chip, help another Scout earn their Totin’ Chip and demonstrate to him the value of proper woods tools.
They also must trim a downed tree, cut it into 4-foot lengths, stack and make a brush pile with branches.
This is one of the more difficult awards to earn and is usually done by the older Scouts.
The pictured Scouts from Troop 715 spent a Saturday cleaning up a yard west of Warsaw where there had been extensive tree damage from the winter storms.
