An anonymous donor recently purchased sixty-two flags from Ace Hardware, Warsaw. The donor lives on Main Street and purchased the flags to show more patriotism in Warsaw, according to Joe Hawn, Troop 715 Scout leader.

The Boy Scouts took flag orders May 23 and spent time Sunday night going to homes on Main Street to install the flags.

The Boy Scouts encouraged the homeowners to fly the flags on Flag Day, June 14, and July 4.Dick McCleary, Troop 715 Scout master, said he hopes the Scouts learn to do something for others through the experience.

"We try to have the Scouts complete 400 to 500 hours of community service per year, and I feel it is important for them to learn to help others," McCleary said.

Zach Laureano, 13, a Troop 715 member, said he was happy to do the work.

"I think it's important to hang the flags to show we support our troops who fight to save lives everyday," Laureano said.

Bryston Canada, 11, Troop 715 member, said he thought of his great uncle Sunday who is in the Army.

"I am glad to help because it honors those like my great uncle who serve our country," Canada said.

Dana Milford and her husband, Ron, watched Sunday as the Scouts installed a flag on their home.

The Milfords have a nephew that has served the past two years in Afghanistan.

"We used to have a flag displayed outside our home, but lost the flag attachment and are happy to have a flag again to show support for the country," Milford said.
