The name of an 11-year-old boy injured during a crash Friday afternoon has still not been released.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department still had not made available the name of a boy who was hurt when the driver of the vehicle he was traveling in allegedly failed to see an oncoming pickup truck and was struck.

The Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team reported that Janett A. Vining, 30, Claypool, was northbound on CR 450W and stopped at the intersection of Ind. 25 around 4:46 p.m. Friday.

According to the report, Vining failed to see a pickup truck driven by Roger Davis, 56, Lafayette, and pulled directly into the pickup’s path.

The boy was sitting in the front seat of Vining’s vehicle. He was airlifted to Parkview Memorial Hospital from the scene by Samaritan helicopter.

He was in serious but stable condition at Parkview over the weekend with injuries to his chest and face.

Another juvenile was in Vining’s vehicle, but along with Vining was uninjured.

Davis also didn’t sustain any injuries.
