Dave and Kim Bowman and Mike and Stacey Brazel, Bringhurst, announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Bowman, Bringhurst, to Christopher Dotson, Silver Lake. He is the son of John and Yavonna Dotson, Silver Lake. The bride-to-be is a community service coordinator at Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion. She graduated from Carroll Junior/Senior High School, Flora, in 2006. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and addictions counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2010 and will graduate with a master’s degree in counseling specialization in marriage and family therapy from Indiana Wesleyan University in April 2013. The groom-elect is a process technician at Kinetic Concepts Inc. Pierceton. He graduated from Manchester High School, North Manchester, in May 2006 and earned a degree in computer science from Ivy Tech, Fort Wayne, and an associate’s degree in graphic design in May 2010. The couple plan an Aug. 24, 2013, wedding.
