Bowen Center’s COVID Testing Site Averaging 133 Per DaySince Bowen Center opened a new free COVID-19 testing site in Warsaw on Oct. 14, it has tested 1,069 people – an average of 133 per day.
At 2 p.m. Tuesday, it had tested over 100 people and the site was open until 7 p.m., according to information from the Bowen Center Tuesday afternoon.
At the busiest times, some people had to wait up to 90 minutes in line, which reached from the Dubois entrance, around the corner onto Provident Drive and in the other direction down Harrison Street.
A staff of 12 are working to get people through as quickly as possible, according to the information. The test doesn’t take long, but the registration takes a while.
To preregister for the COVID-19 testing, visit scheduling.coronavirus.in.gov and click “I don’t have an invitation code.” Enter the 46580 zip code. Under E. Dubois Dr., Kosciusko County, click COVID-19 testing. Click COVID-19 NP SWAB and then “Find a Time.”
Choose a time. It doesn’t matter what time you choose, you will be tested as soon as you get to the testing tent no matter what day or time you pick, the information provided states. Click “Select this Time.”
Fill in your name, date of birth, sex, contact preference, email address and mobile phone number. Click “submit patient information,” then click “Continue to Registration” and “Continue.”
Fill out the requested information on each page and click “Save” or continue or submit to move to each new page.
At the patient consent for COVID-19 testing page, read the information carefully and choose accept or decline, then click continue.
Read the notice of privacy, then choose acknowledge or decline, then click continue. Fill out name, relationship to patient and check whether you agree, then click sign forms.
To finish registration, click finish and log out.
The free COVID-19 tests are at 2219 E. Dubois Drive, Warsaw, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Friday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
People should take the test if they have symptoms, have been exposed to someone who tested positive, are at high risk or need tested for work.
No doctor’s order or health insurance is required. It is for ages 2 and older. Results will be sent by email or text in three to five days.
