BOW OKs Da-Lite Turn Lane Contract

Phend & Brown Inc., Milford, will install two right-turn lanes near Da-Lite Screen Co.

A $149,219.27 contract for the project was approved Friday during the Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.

The project started Nov. 12, and will include installing an eastbound right-turn lane and a northbound right-turn lane at the intersection of Ind. 15 and CR 300N.

The project also will include removing the existing pavement, and the construction of new pavement.

City Planner Jeremy Skinner said the project will be completed by the end of this year, weather permitting.

The board previously reviewed supply bids for the Warsaw Street Department for 2008 at its Nov. 2 meeting.

The board Friday approved Rock Industries suppling limestone; Kuert Concrete supplying ready-mix concrete and flowable back material; NiBlock suppling bituminous material; and Phend & Brown Inc. supplying concrete curbing and concrete flatwork.

The board also:

- Approved a three-year $359,780.76 contract between Waste Management and the city for the city's collection and disposal of recyclable materials.

- Approved a $7,067.25 contract between the Warsaw Parks Department and TruGreen ChemLawn for tree and shrub care services for the department for 2008.

- Approved a maintenance contract for a Muratec copier between Perry Corp. and the the Warsaw Parks Department for $28.05 per month.

- Approved a contract between Q & K Carriage and the Warsaw Parks Department for carriage rides in Central Park. The carriage rides will be Dec. 7, 21 and 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. and carriage rides Dec. 14 for the Christmas Countdown event.

- Approved a four-year lease contract between the Warsaw sewage collection office and Pitney Bowes for renewing and upgrading the office's postage collection machine.

- Approved the Warsaw Municipal Airport purchasing a John Deer mower from Gilsinger Implement Co., Milford, subject to the Warsaw City Council approving a transfer ordinance during Monday night's council meeting.

- Approved an energy management plan contract between Comfort Control LLC and the city for the city building.
