BOW Approves Street Closure For First Fridays Taste Of Downtown Event

Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety Friday approved a street closure for a First Fridays downtown event in Warsaw.

The board approved the request from Keith Reinholt to close Main Street between Buffalo and Lake streets June 4 from 4 to 10 p.m. for the First Fridays Taste of Downtown.

There will be live music on the north side of the courthouse and downtown vendors and activities on Main Street.

Reinholt's employees will begin coning off parking spaces around noon, and then will barricade the street around 3:30 p.m. with the event starting at 4 p.m.

The board also approved a salary for Warsaw Police Department patrol officer, Lewis Fuller, at $1,504.35 bi-weekly, who has completed his six-month probationary status. The hire date for Fuller was May 16.In other business the board:

- Approved several Warsaw Parks Department contracts, including a contract for a stagehand for the Classic Rock and Country concert.

- Approved a request from Warsaw Fire Department to replace an area of concrete at Station Two. The Fire Territory Board has approved $21,457 plus the alternate of additional concrete in the amount of $5,239.50.
