BOW Approves Serving As Agent For Buffalo Street Project Bond Issues

Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety Friday approved an agreement for the board to serve as a construction agent for the Buffalo Street project bond issue.
This agreement will allow the board to oversee the construction and bond proceeds needed to complete the project.
The project construction also will be overseen by the building and planning department, city engineer, wastewater and street departments.
The board also approved:
• A notice to proceed on the Husky Trail improvement project.
• A $1,515 contract with Scheele Engineering for design services for residential street lighting at Eisenhower Subdivision. Subdivision residents attended a city council meeting and requested the lights be installed.
• A request from Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church Springhill Day Campground to close the alley on the west side of the church between Market and Jefferson streets for the camp June 15 to 19 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• A $9,516 agreement between the city’s human resources department and CivicHR for a human resources solutions system.
• A $300 contract with Karen Smith to lead and instruct yoga in Central Park Thursdays from May 28 to Sept. 3.
• A $240 contract with Brett Leach for concert stagehand work for the classic rock concert June 26 and country concert June 24.
• An adoption of updated construction standards for the city.
• Accepting a $375,000 grant from K21 Health Foundation for the Market Street trail project. The grant was approved and awarded last year and $125,000 has been raised with the support of donors including: OrthoWorx, Bowen Center, Kosciusko County Velo Cycling Club, Tri Kappa, Dr. Dane and Mary Louise Miller Foundation and the community.
• Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Department applying for a Kosciusko REMC Operation Roundup  grant for Family Safety Day at Central Park and Center Lake Pavilion Sept. 12.
• A maintenance agreement for the Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Department generators at stations one and two.
