BOW Approves North Buffalo Street Soil Sampling

Posted
Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety Monday approved a preliminary soil sample test for the North Buffalo Street development.
The purpose of the test is to provide subsurface soil and groundwater information in the area of the proposed development and assess the impact of the soil conditions on the development.
The $5,399 contract was approved with Weaver Boos Consultants.
Development of the North Buffalo Street is in planning stages. At this time the parcel is a yet-to-be-defined multi-level commercial building, according to Jeremy Skinner, city planner. The development may include a parking garage.
The board also approved agreements for Pike, Center and Winona Lake Preservation Associations. The funds, $2,500 to each lake association, are to be used to enhance the well being of the lakes through preservation, conservation and maintenance, weed control, fish stocking of the lake and lake studies.
The board also approved:
• Wayne Township paying $72,500 to the city for park services it uses.
• A contract for $1,888.88 per month between the city and Anderson Property Management for planting and maintenance of beds and urns at Central Park.
• A contract not to exceed $862.50 for catering services with Our Father’s House for the Daddy’s Little Sweetheart Dance Feb. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Center Lake Pavilion; a contract not to exceed $431.25 with Our Father’s House for catering for a Girls Night Out event; and a disc jockey contract with J & S Van Lue DJ Services for $300 for services for Daddy’s Little Sweetheart Dance.
• A payment not to exceed $3,823 for payment to Niblock Excavating Inc. for alley drainage improvements on Center and Main streets and Indiana and Buffalo streets.
